We Observe The Lord's Supper Every Sunday
The Lord’s Supper is a time to remember the death of our Lord Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. This is a time for us to think about the sacrifice He made for us and how much He loves us to die for our sins.
Jesus gave an example of the Lord's Supper to His disciples before He was crucified (Matthew 26:26-29), and the apostle Paul passed these instructions on to the early Church (1 Corinthians 11:23-25). There are examples of the Lord's Supper being observed on the first day of the week. One example was the church at Troas. Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread
The church at Corinth observed the Lord’s Supper when they came together, and they came together on the first day of the week.
Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper.
On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.
In the Old Testament God instructed His people to “remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy”. The keeping of the Sabbath was to be done every week. Now while we are no longer instructed to observe the Sabbath today, we believe that the pattern of a certain day, the same day every week, should to be used to remember the love God and Jesus have for us, and the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
